7 days --7 ways to have breakfast -- day 2 Bean Soup recipe


Bean Soup
















Ingredients 

1 can organic aduki beans 
5 inch piece of kombu 
2 to 3 cups spring water
1/4 cup chopped cooked  ham or a slice 
2 bay leaves 
1 teaspoon sea salt 


Directions

wash beans 
place kombu and beans & ham  in a pot
cover with water
bring to a boil 
add bay leaves
cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes 
check periodically add more water if necessary
allow beans to cook until they are cooked through 
add salt
drain excess water if necessary 

optional instead of cooking ham with beans place a slice of cooked ham on a plate 
and serve bean soup over ham




if you are using non-canned beans the cooking time is about an hour
